Hosted by Daniel from the winery

If you love discovering wines that feel rare, site-driven, and a little unexpected (in the best way), this Thursday Night Wine Tasting is for you. On Thursday, March 26, we’re featuring Latta Wines—a Washington producer known for putting uncommon varietals and distinctive Eastern Washington vineyard sites front and center.

Latta Wines is a small-production project with a strong focus on Rhone-inspired offerings, built around vineyard expression and thoughtful, minimal-handed winemaking. Expect wines with personality: lifted aromatics, savory layers, and structure that pairs beautifully with food.

About Latta Wines

Latta Wines highlights lesser-seen varietals sourced from some of the most geologically diverse and unique vineyard sites in Eastern Washington. What began as an initial release of just two special wines grew steadily—two became four, and so on—while production has remained intentionally extremely small.

In the cellar, the approach is grounded in restraint and respect for site:

  • Sustainably farmed vineyard sources

  • Native yeast fermentations

  • Aging in mostly neutral French barrique and puncheon

The goal is clarity over cosmetics—wines that speak in a more honest voice about where they’re from.

Meet the Winemaker: Andrew Latta

Latta Wines was founded in 2011 by winemaker and owner Andrew Latta, whose path into winemaking started on the restaurant floor. Andrew worked his way from bussing tables in his home state of Kentucky to a sommelier role in Thailand, where he directed one of the country’s standout wine programs. That hospitality background still shapes how Latta Wines are made today—built with the table in mind, designed to be enjoyed in context, and crafted for real-world pairing.

After leaving restaurants behind, Andrew immersed himself in Washington wine production, beginning in Walla Walla nearly two decades ago. A ten-year progression—from harvest work to winemaker at a notable Washington winery—ultimately set the foundation for launching Latta Wines.

Seattle has been home for the brand since 2015, with winery hospitality available in SoDo and a newer location in Woodinville.
