About Aluel Wines:
It all started with a sunset and two bottles of wine in the summer of 2010. Alex Oh brought an Entre-Deux-Mers, Samuel Hilbert brought a Pinotage, and together they shared their dreams, stories, and a deep love for wine.
At the time, Samuel was living in Woodinville, active in the Chamber of Commerce, and spending weekends at local wineries. Alex, based in downtown Seattle, was helping clients (including wineries) navigate legal challenges by day and diving into wine science and tasting rooms by night.
By 2012, they decided to turn their shared passion into something more. Alex earned his Viticulture & Enology degree from UC Davis, while Samuel studied Washington’s unique terroir at WSU. Together, they founded Aluel Cellars — now with tasting rooms in Capitol Hill, Ballard, and Queen Anne.
Today, their wines reflect their love for Washington-grown grapes and traditional winemaking styles. What’s next? A new production facility, vineyards, and a seasonal tasting room on 15 stunning acres on the Key Peninsula.
