Exploring the Diverse, Terroir-Driven Wines of the American Southwest

The history of wine in the United States begins with the American Southwest.

The Southwest is enormous, spanning more than 1,300 miles (2,100 km) from east to west and north to south. The combination of soils, climate, and elevations ranging between 3,000 and 6,000 feet all combine to make the region a unique wine-growing landscape similar to the warmer parts of Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy.

We will learn about:

  • Wines from New Mexico, Arizona and Texas

  • Common threads that tie these regions together

  • What grapes do well in these climates

  • Top 10 best producers from the Southwest

Join us for this wine education class and learn about some "Wines of the Southwest" we are sure you will enjoy.
